At Chemical Reduction Solutions, we are providing real world learnings and examples to help improve industrial and chemical processes across a wide variety of industries. One amazing technology that is revolutionizing how the world views water, is nanobubbles. While nanobubbles are small, (2500 times smaller than a grain of sand!) they pack a big punch when it comes to improving water processes. At Chemical Reduction Solutions (“CRS”), we’re excited to explain why nanobubbles are such a big deal!
What Are Nanobubbles?
Nanobubbles are tiny, nanoscopic gas-filled bubbles and particles, typically less than 200 nanometers in size, that behave differently than ordinary bubbles. Unlike larger micro bubbles that rise and pop quickly (like when you open a can of coke), nanobubbles remain suspended in liquids for upwards of 2 years (Clemson University study) and are invisible to the naked eye. Their small size and high surface area allow them to interact with water, grease, grime, dirt, soil, and other mediums in remarkable ways
Why Nanobubbles Matter
Nanobubbles are more than just a scientific curiosity—they’re a practical solution for real-world challenges. Here’s how they’re making an impact:
Cleaning and Water Treatment: Nanobubbles enhance cleaning efficacy of chemicals and reduce overall reliance on chemicals to clean. They also turbo charge water reclamation and treatment processes by removing pollutants, coagulating solids, and existing water treatment processes
Water Aeration: Nanobubbles are the most efficient gas transfer solution for liquids and can provide upwards of 40+ MG/L of oxygen in water. Hyper-saturated water is great for promoting healthier aquatic systems, removing pollutants, supercharging biological processes, enhancing root oxygenation and nutrient delivery, and improving ORP
Scale & Bioflim Removal and Mitigation: Because of the small size of nanobubbles, they are great at removing existing hard-water scale and biofilm from pipes and surfaces and are able to get into the nano-sized cracks and crevices of surfaces to prevent future scale and biofilm formation
Chemical Enhancement: Nanobubbles reduce the surface tension of water and improve chemical dispersion, enhancing any chemical mixing process and improving efficacy across a broad range of chemicals
Why We’re Excited at CRS:
At CRS, we care about innovative solutions that improve sustainability and efficiency. Nanobubble technology aligns perfectly with our mission to make all industrial and water processes more efficient while reducing the need for chemicals. Whether you’re looking to mitigate hardwater build up, clean cars more efficiently, or streamline water treatment operations, nanobubbles offer a versatile, eco-friendly tool to get the job done.
