NanoSoft™ Is Sweeping the Nation: Real Savings and Easing Maintenance for Car Wash Operators
NO SALT. LESS WATER. MORE MOMENTUM.
NanoSoft™ is sweeping the nation as car wash operators rethink the cost and complexity of traditional water softeners. From individual locations to growing portfolios, the appeal is practical: eliminate recurring salt spend, eliminate softener regeneration, and simplify the back room.
Two anonymized customer case studies bring that story into focus. Both locations operated with incoming water hardness in the 11–12 grains per gallon (GPG) range. After switching to NanoSoft, they reported meaningful water and monthly cost savings—even as car counts increased.
8–12% water savings • 11–12 GPG incoming hardness

Two locations. Hard water. Measurable savings.
The following results were reported by two operators following their transition away from conventional salt-based softening. Their names are withheld here.
CASE STUDY 01 | A lower salt bill—and less water
8% water savings + $350/month in salt savings
The first in-bay-automatic location reported 8% water savings and eliminated approximately $350 per month in salt expense. That salt reduction alone equates to approximately $4,200 annually, before assigning any dollar value to the reported water savings.
Incoming hardness was within the 11–12 GPG range. Car counts rose approximately 15–20% at the location over the comparison period, making the reported reduction in water use particularly noteworthy.
CASE STUDY 02 | Double-digit water savings
12% water savings + over $800/month in reported savings
The second location, an express tunnel, also operating within the 11–12 GPG hardness range, reported 12% water savings and more than $800 per month in savings. At that monthly run rate, the reported savings would exceed $9,600 annually.
This location also saw car counts increase approximately 15–20% during the comparison period. The operational story is compelling: more vehicles washed alongside lower reported water use.
The car-count increases provide operating context. Annual figures are simple projections of the reported monthly savings, not separate measured annual results. Customer-reported outcomes vary with site conditions and operating practices.

Why operators are making the switch
For a busy wash, softening carries costs beyond the salt invoice: regeneration water, salt handling, storage, and equipment upkeep all deserve a place in the operating budget. Replacing the conventional softener removes its salt and regeneration requirements from that part of the process.
NanoSoft is a water-conditioning alternative to traditional ion-exchange softening. It does not remove dissolved hardness minerals. That distinction matters when evaluating an application: the goal is to assess performance in the wash process and verify the savings against the site's own baseline.
These two locations demonstrate why hard-water operators are taking a closer look. An 11–12 GPG water supply did not prevent either operator from reporting meaningful savings after the switch.
Clean installations. A smoother rollout.

CRS has partnered with a national installation company to support NanoSoft installations on both leased and purchased units. That gives operators a coordinated path from selecting the system to putting it into service.
For a single location, CRS can help coordinate the installation around the site's layout and operating schedule. For multi-site operators, the same partnership supports a planned rollout across locations, with installation coordination that makes the transition easier for local teams.
Whether you are starting with one wash or planning a broader deployment, the objective is the same: a smooth installation, a clear baseline, and results you can evaluate.
Purchase or lease. Start with your numbers.
NanoSoft is available for purchase or lease. Bring CRS your incoming hardness, monthly salt spend, water usage, and car counts. Together, we can evaluate fit, discuss installation, and identify the measurements that will show what changes at your location.
If your water softener is still consuming salt, regeneration water, and back-room space, now is the time to explore a switch.
